Heal Out Loud Award Luncheon honoring J. Blake Wade

The 2026 Heal Out Loud Luncheon honors J. Blake Wade, a decorated Vietnam veteran, Oklahoma Hall of Fame inductee, and one of Oklahoma's most respected civic leaders. While his leadership has helped shape our state for decades, some of his most meaningful work has happened beyond the public eye. Since beginning his own recovery in 1983, Mr. Wade has courageously used his own story to challenge the stigma surrounding addiction, encourage others to seek recovery, and strengthen pathways to care across Oklahoma. He understands that when one person is willing to speak openly, it becomes easier for someone else to ask for help. Created in 2023, the Heal Out Loud Award recognizes an Oklahoman who has used the impact of addiction in their own life to challenge stigma and make that first step toward help a little easier for others. Peaceful Family Oklahoma is honored to recognize Mr. Wade for the example he has set and the lives he has changed.

Peaceful Family Oklahoma exists just for kids impacted by addiction in their family. Through our evidence-based programs, children learn about addiction as a brain disease, discover and grow their own strengths, and practice healthy ways to respond to life's challenges. Just as importantly, they discover they are among other kids who understand.
